In November of 1985 our first 
tenant arrived in our new retirement complex which was built adjacent to the Nursing Center. The complex has 22 independent apartments ranging in size from small studios to two bedrooms. This complex has its own dining /community room with a noon meal provided daily. The tenants of this complex must be independent, yet the security of nursing home staff nearby if needed.

Medina Manor Retirement Apts are a 22 unit 
independent living complex adjacent to Medina Manor Nursing Center in Durand, Il.. Situated in a rural area in N.W. Ill. we offer studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units. Each unit has a kitchen including numerous cabinets, full sized stove and refrigerators and a dishwasher in the 2 bedroom units. All bathrooms are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair if necessary. Each apt has numerous closets for storage. Each unit has its own thermostat control to keep your home as cozy as you want it. Heat and air conditioning are included in your monthly rent. 1st floor units have a 
patio and 2nd floor units have a balcony to enjoy the rural views of the Durand area. The wide hallways with railing make the walk to the elevator or laundry room a pleasant experience. Each floor has a self service coin free laundry facility. Mail is delivered daily to your own secured box inside the building along with your newspaper (if ordered) being delivered to your door.
Services
Meals are available if you choose. The noon meal is a 5 course feast available daily in the dining/community room in the lower level. Breakfast and supper are also available in the adjoining nursing home dining room. If you are unable to do your own housekeeping, services are available to you or you may contract outside for this service. Our van takes you into town weekly to do your banking, grocery shopping, gift or hardware shopping. The emergency call system, 24 hour medical staff and outpatient therapies make Medina a very comfortable and safe environment.
